Government School children of grade 8, 9 and 11 from nearby areas of Bir and Matru, in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, India, come to Deer Park Institute every alternate day for two hours.

They come for ‘The Participatory Media Project’ facilitated by Manjusha Nair in collaboration with Deer Park Institute, India. The project has received a grant from Conscious Community Initiative, (Alef Trust), UK.

The project brings an awareness of ecology coupled with filmmaking skills to engage the participants to share their stories.  The participants have been involved with critical, creative and experiential ways of learning and storytelling. This video shares some glimpses of the preparation and behind the scenes activity in their recent forays of creating songs about climate change and waste management…or rather mis-management.
