Sheryl Clowes is a Senior Occupational Therapist working within mental health in the NHS. Sheryl feels passionate that wellbeing derives from well-doing, an engagement in a variety of meaningful and purposeful occupations that give value to human life, enable transformation and foster resilience. Sheryl is committed to providing both practical and emotional support and works in a person-centered way to empower individuals to reach their potential and overcome barriers that prevent people from doing activities (occupations) that matter to them.
Sheryl has been part of the core team of Creative Alternatives, an arts and mental health service operating under Alef Trust since 2007, working both as an Artist and Project Support Worker. She has worked with various client groups extensively in therapeutic expressive art activity both in the UK and abroad. She has volunteered with the homeless in Romania on a pioneering dramatherapy project and spent six months living and working in India facilitating community drama and storytelling projects with children and adults experiencing HIV/Aids.
Sheryl believes passionately in the arts as a tool for personal growth and holds a degree in European Theatre Arts and certificates in both dramatherapy and counselling.
